| Estepona
is located on the Costa del Sol, in the province of Malaga, in sunny
Southern Spain. A medium sized but well resourced Spanish town,
Estepona can offer all the usual facilities, with an abundance of
bars and restaurants and a fine beach and waterfront on to the Mediterranean.
This fine promenade, lined by palm trees and garlanded with flowers,
runs the length of the town and was awarded a national prize for
beauty by the Ministry of Information and Tourism.
It is approx 50 minutes drive from Malaga airport and Estepona
understands the importance of preserving her quaint Andalusian character.
Ideally placed to use as a base to explore the Costa del Sol, you
can go sightseeing in the picturesque Spanish towns of:
- Ronda 1 hours drive
- Seville 2 hours
- Granada and Cordoba 3 hours
- Gibraltar 30 minutes
- Algeciras (boat to Morocco) 30 minutes,
- Marbella and Puerto Banus 20 minutes,
- Casares and Benahavis 20 minutes.
Nearby attractions include the "Selwo"
safari park and zoo about 7 km distant. You can also enjoy fishing,
horse riding, water-sports and the area is renowned for its abundance
of great golf-courses. Down at the harbour, freshly caught fish
and shellfish is auctioned daily on the quayside, including the
famous sardines.
There is a lively market each Wednesday morning in the town square,
selling pottery, plants, clothing and household wares and a more
fashion orientated market on Sunday mornings in the Estepona leisure
Marina (yacht harbour with restaurants). |
