Manilva is the last town at the western end of Málaga province, it is situated 97 kilometres from Málaga and 13 kilometres from Estepona, bordering with Casares in the east and Cadiz in the west. Manilva enjoys a prime location on the coast, stretching along the coast for approximately nine kilometres.

The area maintains a typically Spanish atmosphere and has only recently been discovered by the tourist industry.

Punta de la Chullera is part agricultural and part coastal and stretches inland for some 8 kilometres.

Manilva´s economy is mainly based on fishing and agriculture, the main crop being grapes, used for the well-known locally produced wines.

Manilva is becoming more popular with tourists because of its diverse landscape and magnificent setting, which also makes it popular with local artists.

The area is also well known for fishing, diving and countryside walks.
